Naděžda Kotrčová 2017 + 2018
Born in Ostrava 19/04/1945
In 1961, Naděžda Kotrčová left her hometown for Prague to study at the Secondary School of Arts in the field of promotional graphics design, in which she worked for several years, specialising in calligraphy. She later worked with children in extracurricular art, organising contests and exhibitions for them, before moving on to freelance work.
Kotrčová devoted herself to freeform, illustration (primarily for children), scientific illustration, posters, prints, and portraits. Her works were categorised into the genres of "POETIC REALISM" and "FANTASY." She paints primarily in oil with a glaze effect on canvas, fibreboard, and wood.
Exhibiting her works since 1965, Kotrčová has several dozen solo art shows at home and abroad to her name. She participated twice in the exposition of miniatures in Toronto, Canada, in expositions of the Bonsaiklub in Berlin, Hannover, Janov, and, or course exhibitions all over the Czech Republic as well. She has also participated in joint exhibitions including the "Young Artists' Studios" – later "Artists' Studios", Bertramka, as well as exhibitions of fashion accessories and jewellery, and in exhibitions with friends from Ostrava, Klášterec nad Ohří, and Kadaň... Her works are represented in private collections around the world, and in past years were sold in the "DÍLO" galleries.
